San Francisco Giants Purchase Brett Austin's Contract

Rockers catcher will report to Double-A Richmond
 

(High Point, N.C., June 11, 2019) - For the fifth time this season, the High Point Rockers have had one of their player’s contracts purchased. This time around it was the San Francisco Giants, who have purchased catcher Brett Austin’s contract. Austin, a switch hitting catcher, will report to the Richmond Flying Squirrels, the Double-A affiliate of the Giants.

The Matthews, North Carolina native, and former NC State catcher, led the Rockers with a .979 OPS and was third on the team in batting average at .321. Austin drove in 18 runs and hit four home runs during his time in High Point.

This marks the third contract purchased in the last fourteen days for the Rockers. The High Point Rockers loved having Brett be a part of our inaugural season and wish him all the best in his journey.
