Atlantic League honors defensive excellence for 2017 season
(Denver, CO, Oct. 12, 2017) – The Atlantic League of Professional Baseball today announced its selections for the 2017 Red, White and Blue All-Defensive Team. Players were selected through voting from league club managers, executives and media.
“There is no substitution for outstanding defense, and our players certainly displayed that this past season,” says League President Rick White. “It is important that their accolades do not pass without merit, and we are pleased to recognize these select players for their extraordinary efforts.”
This marks the third consecutive season in which the Atlantic League has selected a Red, White and Blue All-Defensive Team. The honor, based on a player’s defensive abilities during the regular season, commemorates the red and blue stitched Rawlings baseball that was adopted as the league’s official baseball in 2015.
