Bluefish pitcher Brian Moran has contract purchased by Atlanta Braves
(Bridgeport, Conn., Aug. 9, 2016) – Bridgeport Bluefish team officials today announced that pitcher Brian Moran has had his contract purchased by the Atlanta Braves organization. He will report to Triple-A Gwinnett of the International League.
“Brian has proven to be very reliable on the mound,” says Paul Herrmann, Bluefish Senior Director of Baseball Operations and Public Relations. “We are extremely happy for him to receive this opportunity and we wish him the best of luck.”
Moran has made 38 appearances with the ‘Fish this season, collecting a 3.12 ERA with 42 strikeouts in 34.2 innings.
The 27-year-old made his professional debut in 2009 after being selected by the Seattle Mariners in the seventh round of the MLB draft. Before joining the ‘Fish, Moran had spent his entire career in the Mariners organization, reaching as high as Triple-A in 2012 and 2013.
Moran is the fifth Bluefish player to have his contract purchased during the 2016 season.
