League-Record 7 Millionth Fan Welcomed By Ducks

Attendance milestone achieved on Fan Appreciation Day

(Central Islip, N.Y., Sept. 11, 2016) – On Sunday, September 11, Victoria Sardegna of Riverhead passed through the turnstiles at Bethpage Ballpark prior to the Long Island Ducks game against the York Revolution. In doing so, she became the 7 millionth fan in franchise history to attend a Ducks game in their home ballpark, making the club the first in Atlantic League history to reach the 7 million fan milestone.

“There is truly no better day to reach this milestone and recognize the tremendous support of Long Islanders than on Fan Appreciation Day,” says Ducks President/GM Michael Pfaff. “We are proud to have welcomed 7 million fans since our inaugural season and eternally grateful for all that have shared this experience with us.”

The Ducks achieved the 7 million fan mark faster than any club in league history, despite having begun play in the league’s third year of existence (2000). In addition to being the league’s all-time leader in attendance, the Ducks have also hosted the most sellout crowds in league history (663). On July 3 of this season, a franchise record-crowd of 7,602 fans attended the Ducks’ 5-2 win over the Sugar Land Skeeters, surpassing the previous mark of 7,582 set on July 4, 2009. The Ducks currently lead the Atlantic League in average attendance for 2016 at 5,265. If all holds, it will mark the 14th time in 17 seasons that the Ducks will lead the league in that category.

Victoria, her son, T.J., and his dad, Tim, were treated to a VIP experience at Bethpage Ballpark for being the lucky fan. She received a commemorative 7 millionth fan jersey and had her name displayed on the scoreboard, and they were able to enjoy the Dave and Buster’s “Best Seat in the House” for the entire game. In addition, Victoria received a team-autographed bat, a $250 gift card from Bethpage Federal Credit Union and a luxury suite for Opening Night of the Ducks’ 2017 season at Bethpage Ballpark.

The Long Island Ducks are members of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball and play their home games at Bethpage Ballpark. For further information, call (631) 940-DUCK or visit www.liducks.com.
