(Tuesday, June 6th, Waldorf) Before their series with the High Point Rockers, the Blue Crabs made a trade with the Long Island Ducks. Being sent to Long Island is LHP McKenzie Mills, and the Crabs will acquire infielder Philip Caulfield.
Caulfield was drafted by the Washington Nationals in 2017 out of Loyola Marymount University. He played in the American Association and the Frontier League before he landed in Long Island last year. Last year he slashed a .288/.393/.394.
Caulfield is batting a .220 average this year and has collected four doubles. The newest Blue Crab can play second, shortstop, and third base.
The Blue Crabs will be on the road today as they head off to High Point for a three-game set; afterward, they will finally return home and host the Lexington Counter Clocks. Every game can be watched on FloSports.
