York Revolution 8, High Point Rockers 6 (10 innings)
(July 10, 2025 – High Point, NC): The York Revolution closed a weeklong road stretch with back-to-back extra inning comeback wins, defeating the High Point Rockers, 8-6 in 10 innings on Thursday night at Truist Point.
York (41-25) trailed by four runs at one point and rallied for three in the eighth to tie the score, before using a three-run tenth inning to seize the victory.
Down three, Jaylin Davis sparked the comeback in earnest in the eighth, slamming a line drive homer to left, his 10th of the year. With one out, Jalen Miller and Jeremy Arocho worked walks from reliever Daniel Blair who was replaced by Justin Lewis. Frankie Tostado smoked an RBI single to center to make it a one-run game, and as Arocho raced to third drawing a throw, Tostado advanced to second. That caused High Point to play the infield partway in, and William Simoneit bounced a game-tying RBI groundout to short, plating Arocho who took off on contact as the score was tied, 5-5.
The Revs took advantage of walks to Miller and Arocho from lefty Michael Esposito (1-1) in the tenth, loading the bases with no outs. Tostado quickly cashed in, smacking a two-run single up the middle for a 7-5 lead. Shayne Fontana was later hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to force in the third run for insurance.
Noah Denoyer returned to the mound for the first time since June 26 in the bottom of the tenth and retired Braxton Davidson on a ground out. Jack Conley singled through the right side to plate a run bringing the Rockers within two. Denoyer retired Aidan Brewer on a pop out, and Tyler Palm entered to retire DJ Burt on a weak comebacker to the mound for a one-pitch save, the second of his pro career and first since 2017.
Lefty Jordan Morales made the start for the Revs, his first since June 8.
High Point quickly led in the first. After loading the bases with no outs on a pair of hit batters and a single, an Alex Dickerson sac fly and Ben Aklinski single up the middle produced a 2-0 Rockers lead.
Morales rebounded with a scoreless second but allowed a two-out RBI single to Conley in the third. The Rockers attempted to add another run on Burt’s single to left, but Arocho uncorked a strike to the plate nailing Conley for his first outfield assist of the season, keeping York within 3-1.
Danny Denz was greeted with a pair of runs in the fourth on a Drew Mendoza RBI single and an Aklinski RBI fielder’s choice as he beat out a double play attempt to drive in High Point’s fifth run.
Denz responded with scoreless frames in the fifth, sixth, and seventh, as he provided the Revs with four total innings in relief, striking out five while walking one.
Trailing 5-1, the modest beginnings of the comeback started in the fifth when Brandon Lewis (eight-game hitting streak) led off with a double to right, took third on Davis’ deep fly out and scored on Bubba Alleyne’s grounder to second.
York’s first run of the game came in the third on Miller’s sac fly to right. That plated Alleyne who had doubled and stolen third, as they trailed 2-1 at the time.
After coming back from down two in the ninth to win in 10 innings the previous day, the three-run eighth inning comeback and subsequent 10-inning victory gives the Revs back-to-back extra inning wins (both on the road) for the second time this season, having accomplished the feat in the first two games of the season, April 25-26 at Gastonia.
Notes: Prior to doing it twice this year, the Revs previously had not won back-to-back games of 10 innings or longer since August, 2015. The game began after a 29-minute rain delay. Davis’ homer was his 10th, and just his second to not go to the opposite field. Simoneit had a 12-game hitting streak snapped but drove in the tying run in the eighth. The Revs post a winning record at Truist Point for the third consecutive season as this series marked their only visit of the regular season. York is now 5-4 in extras, 11-4 in last at-bat decisions, 20-9 in comeback decisions, and 5-21 when trailing after seven. It is their sixth comeback win from down four runs or more. The Revs drew eight walks in the game and only struck out five times; Arocho lost a seven-game hitting streak but led the way with three walks. Tostado paced York with three RBI, all from the eighth inning on. The Revs played error free for the seventh time in the past eight games.
Up Next: The Revs return home to kick off a six-game homestand Friday at 6:30 p.m. against the Staten Island FerryHawks. York RHP Michael Horrell (3-2, 3.03) starts against righty Alex Mack (2-0, 2.25). It is Softball Night, Freebie Friday, Shipley Energy Customer Appreciation Night, and the homestand is sponsored by York Fresh Food Farms. Tickets are on sale at YorkRevolution.com, (717) 801-HITS, and in-person at the Shipley Energy Ticket Office.
Charleston Dirty Birds 7, Gastonia Ghost Peppers 5
GASTONIA, N.C. – The Ghost Peppers connected on five solo homers Thursday night, but fell to Charleston 7-5 in the rubber match of the series.
All 12 runs in the contest were via the long ball.
Dalton Guthrie hit two of the team’s five home runs – both to the opposite field. His second of the two long balls tied the game at 5 in the sixth inning.
Charleston took a lead in the eighth after an extremely dramatic sequence at CaroMont Health Park.
Art Warren came on for the Ghost Peppers at the start of the frame to face Alsander Womack. Warren got Womack to fly out to right field, and the two started jawing. Warren then got into a fighting stance, which prompted a benches-clearing brawl between the two South Division foes.
Warren and Joseph Rosa were each ejected during the altercation.
Kent Hasler then took over for Warren, and Zach Daniels hit a go-ahead two-run homer to make it 7-5 Dirty Birds.
The other solo shots hit by the Peppers on Thursday were by Cole Roederer, Jack Reinheimer and Brian O’Grady.
O’Grady’s 10th homer of the season helped extend his on-base streak to 33 straight games, the longest active streak in the league.
Gastonia fell to 1-2 in the second half after the 7-5 loss. The Ghost Peppers will head to High Point on Friday to start a three-game set against the Rockers. First pitch is at 6:35 p.m.

The Legends tied the game up in the fourth off of a two run shot to deep left field from Dylan Rock for his 15th home run of the season.
Neither team would score until the game went to extras (double header games are seven innings each) and the Legends would strike first in the eighth as Andy Atwood scored on a fielders choice.

On the very next pitch, Dalton Ross delivered a wild pitch scoring Bryce Cannon from third to walk it off in Meritus Park.
The Boxcars win their third series of the year and win the first series they played in the second half of the season. They move to 2-1 in the second half while the Legends fall to 1-2.
Mac Conklin earns his first win of the season with his relief performance which included stranding the bases loaded in the top of the ninth on two straight strikeouts.

Southern Maryland Blue Crabs 6, Lancaster Stormers 2
Lancaster Stormers 10, Southern Maryland Blue Crabs 2
Mason Martin scored four times, and Nick Lucky drove in three to lead Lancaster to a 10-2 victory over the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs in the second game of a doubleheader at Penn Medicine Park Thursday evening.
Southern Maryland struck for four runs in the top of the sixth to take a 6-2 decision in the opener.
In the nightcap, the Blue Crabs never retired Martin. He walked as part of a four-run first inning then delivered two singles and a double to push his season average back up to .359.
It was the first inning that vaulted the Stormers into a lead they never lost. Evan Alexander led off with a single to right. Nick Ward and Martin drew walks to fill the bases, and Ariel Sandoval reached Maceo Campbell (2-4) for a two-run single to left. Lucky bashed a long ground rule double to left center to score a third run, and Daniel Amaral made it 4-0 with a sacrifice fly to right.
Amaral singled home Martin in the fourth inning to stretch the Stormers’ edge to 5-0.
Max Green (2-4) retired nine of the first 10 batters he faced but had to survive a dicey fourth inning. Zach Racusin led off with a triple to right center and scored on a Dondrei Hubbard sac fly. With two outs, Brett Barrera doubled to left. Giovanni Digiacomo picked up the only walk Green allowed in five innings, and Pearce Howard punched a single into left to bring the tying run to the plate. Green rallied to strike out Dexter.
The lefty yielded two more singles but no more runs in the fifth. Lancaster’s bullpen combo of Jackson Rees and Scott Engler took the game the rest of the way, and the Stormers tacked on four more off relievers Jarod Wright and Hylan Hall to salt away the game.
In the opener, the Blue Crabs were able to reach Billy Sullivan (0-1) for a four spot in the sixth inning to break a 2-2 deadlock. Jamari Baylor led off with a walk and went to second on a wild pitch. Barrera drove a double to the wall in the right field corner to give the Crabs a lead. Digiacomo walked, then the pair stole second and third. Howard lifted a sacrifice fly to left for a 4-2 lead. A double by Dexter to left made it 5-2, and a bloop single by Jackson Loftin to center off Phil Diehl closed out the scoring.
The Stormers had taken a 2-0 lead in the third on singles by Amaral and Joe Campagna, a wild pitch, hit batter and a Nick Ward sac fly. Digiacomo slammed the night’s only homer, a two-run blast in the fourth off newcomer Luke McCollough, to forge the tie.
Andrew Thurman (4-1) picked up the win in the opener, pitching 5 1/3 innings.
Lancaster will open a three-game series at Long Island on Friday evening. Noah Skirrow (8-3) will take the hill for Lancaster against right-hander Ryan Sandberg (3-2). Fans may tune into the action on FloBaseball beginning at 6:30.
NOTES: Lucky has 32 RBI in his last 31 games…Sandoval has knocked home 21 in his last 16 games…Martin’s double in the fifth inning of Game Two was his 40th extra base hit of the year…Rees has allowed only one earned run in his last 14.1 innings of work…Over that span, he has allowed 10 hits and has fanned 16…The second game win was the 496th of Ross Peeples’ managerial career.
Staten Island FerryHawks 8, Long Island Ducks 7
STATEN ISLAND, NY — In a back-and-forth thriller at SIUH Community Park, the Staten Island FerryHawks secured a dramatic 8-7 walk-off win over the Long Island Ducks on Thursday night, taking a 2-1 lead in the Battle of the Belt series.
The game was decided in stunning fashion in the bottom of the ninth when veteran slugger Pablo Sandoval raced home on a wild pitch, sending the FerryHawks faithful into a frenzy and sealing one of the most thrilling wins of the season.
Christian Allegretti made his 11th start for Staten Island, entering with a 3.73 ERA, but Long Island struck early. River Town crushed a two-run homer to left in the opening frame, and Seth Beer followed with an RBI single to give the Ducks a quick 3-0 advantage.
The FerryHawks wasted no time responding. In the bottom of the first, Mark Contreras ripped an RBI double and Nick Decker followed with a run-scoring single to pull Staten Island within one.
Kole Kaler added to the Ducks’ lead in the second with a two-run single, but Staten Island continued to claw back. Pablo Sandoval delivered an RBI single in the third, and the Hawks rallied for three runs in the fourth. Matthew Scheffler’s RBI infield single tied the game before Sandoval laced a two-run double to give the FerryHawks their first lead, 6-5.
Drew Maggi extended the lead to 7-5 with a solo shot to left in the fifth — his second homer of the season — but Long Island answered again in the sixth. Justin O’Connor’s RBI double and Kaler’s second run-scoring hit of the night brought the Ducks even at 7-7.
After Allegretti exited with two outs in the sixth, Durbin Feltman, Kirby Snead, and Robbie Baker combined for 3.1 scoreless innings out of the bullpen to keep the Ducks at bay.
Then came the ninth.
With the winning run on third and one out, a pitch from Ducks reliever got away — and Sandoval broke for the plate. The throw was late, and the 2012 World Series MVP slid in safely, delivering the FerryHawks their sixth walk-off victory of the season.
With the win, Staten Island improves to 2-1 in the second half and will now turn their attention to a weekend series against the York Revolution beginning Friday, July 11 at WellSpan Park.
