York 4, Lancaster 2
(May 25, 2025 – Lancaster, Pa.): Tyler Palm tossed six outstanding innings as the York Revolution downed the Lancaster Stormers, 4-2 on Sunday afternoon at Penn Medicine Park, salvaging the weekend finale.
Palm (2-0) struck out seven and walked just one over six innings, allowing just two runs in the win while the Revs’ bullpen took it the rest of the way.
Down 2-0 in the fourth, the Revs began to make their way back as Marty Costes smoked a leadoff single and scored on Jeffrey Wehler’s two-out RBI double down the left field line.
Justin Connell drove a game-tying solo homer to right in the top of the fifth, squaring things at 2-2 on his team-leading seventh long ball of the year.
York took the lead with two runs in the sixth. Wehler set things up by pounding a triple into the right field corner and scored on a wild pitch for a 3-2 advantage. Mason Walker worked a walk, his sixth in his first 10 career plate appearances. With two outs, Connell raked a triple of his own down the right field line, plating Walker all the way from first for a 4-2 lead.
York had trailed 2-0 through the opening three innings despite a handful of hard hit balls, including Jalen Miller’s two-out single in the second that resulted in a throw out at home plate when Michael Berglund attempted to score. The Revs had been held to just one run in the first 21 innings of the series before scoring four unanswered in the middle three frames.
Lancaster struck first on Joseph Carpenter’s sac fly to left field in the bottom of the first, and added another on Slater Schield’s second inning RBI ground out.
Palm embarked on a stretch of 11 consecutive hitters retired beginning in the third as he logged a season-high six innings, matching the Revs’ longest starting effort of the year.
Ian Churchill whiffed a pair in a scoreless seventh, working around a one-out walk.
Noah Denoyer issued a leadoff walk in the eighth but picked off Mason Martin before recording a strikeout and a ground out to retire the side in order.
Cam Robinson pulled into a tie for the league lead by nailing down his sixth save in the ninth, retiring pinch-hitter Ariel Sandoval on a game-ending 4-6-3 double play with two runners on.
York improves to a franchise best 16-9 through 25 games while increasing its first place lead to two games in the Atlantic League’s North Division.
Notes: The win snaps a five-game road losing skid which followed a perfect 6-0 road start, as the Revs are now 7-5 on the road this season. Lancaster’s bid to extend its three-game winning streak is thwarted. York leads the league with a 4.60 team ERA. Including Palm’s effort, Revs starting pitchers have a 3.34 ERA over the past 16 games. The well-pitched battle was completed in two hours and 35 minutes, the Revs’ quickest nine-inning game of the season thus far. The 2025 War of the Roses series is now tied at 3-3. The Revs played error free defensively in all three games in the series, establishing their longest errorless streak of the year; they have committed just one error in the past five games.
Up Next: The Revs travel to Hagerstown to open a three-game series on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. Revs fans can catch the action live on SportsRadio 98.9 FM & 1350 WOYK, 989woyk.com, The New WOYK app, and FloBaseball.TV beginning at 6:10 p.m.
Charleston 4, Lexington 2
The Lexington Legends couldn’t find the big hit they needed on Sunday, falling 4-2 to Charleston in the series rubber match. Despite some late noise in the ninth, Lexington’s offense just didn’t do enough, dropping them to 15-12 on the year.
Charleston did most of its damage in the fourth and seventh, with a two-run homer from J.J. Matijevic and another long ball from Demtrius Moorer. Lexington starter Nic Laio kept things close through six innings, but the bullpen gave up key insurance runs that proved costly.
Lexington’s offense struggled to get going against Charleston starter David Lebron, who spun eight sharp innings and allowed just three hits while striking out eight. The Legends did scrape one run across in the ninth to make it interesting, but the rally fizzled before they could draw even.
Pedro Gonzalez was one of the few bright spots at the plate, collecting two hits and an RBI double. Paul Toetz added an RBI of his own, but it was otherwise a quiet afternoon for the lineup, which managed just five hits in total.
The Legends now turn the page to their next series, welcoming the Long Island Ducks to Lexington for the first time since 2022. The series will kick off Tuesday, May 27th with first pitch scheduled for 6:45 PM on $2 Tuesday, where fans can expect $2 tickets, popcorn, hot dogs, and canned Pepsi products. On Wednesday first pitch will be at 6:45 PM for the season’s first Bark in the Park, where dog friends will be welcome at Legends Field. The series will wrap up on Thursday, May 29th with Thirsty Thursday’s first pitch scheduled for 6:45 PM. Thursday will also be Teacher Appreciation Night, where teachers can get tickets for a special $5 price through a special ticket link just for them.
The Legends will be hosting Come Home Again Reunion Weekend, presented by Lexington Clinic, June 6-8. The Zooperstars will be in town, along with a commemorative coin giveaway and the return of former Legends players and coaches to Lexington. It’s going to be a Legendary weekend fans won’t want to miss.
Hagerstown 7, Southern Maryland 2
The Hagerstown Flying Boxcars broke open a scoreless game with a five-run fourth inning and never looked back, topping the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs 7–2 on Sunday afternoon in Hagerstown.
Hagerstown capitalized on timely hitting as they handed Blue Crabs starter Shawn Semple (his first loss of the season L, 3-1). Sample surrendered five earned runs over six innings.
Key contributions came from Chris Kwitzer (2-for-4, 2 RBIs), Osvaldo Tovalin (2-for-4, 2 RBIs, triple), and Joe DeLuca (2-for-4, RBI). The Boxcars added two more insurance runs in the eighth to seal the win.
Southern Maryland’s offense was unable to pick up key hits with runners on, tallying only five hits. In the fifth, the Crabs got a leadoff solo homer by Giovanni Digiacomo, who went 2-for-4. The Blue Crabs left eight runners on base and couldn’t capitalize on Hagerstown’s three errors.
David Richardson (W, 1-4) earned his first win of the season for Hagerstown, allowing just one run over 5.2 innings while striking out four. The Boxcars’ bullpen held strong, allowing just one unearned run over the final 3.1 innings.
The Crabs drop to 13-12 on the season, and will take on Gastonia next week for a home and home series in a South Division clash.
High Point 13, Gastonia 12
GASTONIA, NC — The High Point Rockers used a sudden middle-inning surge to claw back from an 8-2 deficit and win their 20th game of the season. The victory marks High Point’s second sweep of the year as the Rockers now own a five-game lead in the Atlantic League’s South division.
The Rockers fell behind 8-2 midway through the game, stranding the bases loaded twice before finally breaking through in the top of the sixth. Ian Yetsko led off the inning with a base hit followed by a walk to Isaiah Mirabal. A wild pitch moved both men into scoring position when DJ Burt then lined a double to left that scored a pair to make the score 8-4. Two batters later, Drew Mendoza clobbered a two-run home run to bring High Point within two at 8-6.
Gastonia grabbed another run back on a Cole Roederer solo blast in the bottom of the sixth. With the score 9-6 Gastonia, High Point never wavered, continuing to storm back with a six-run seventh frame.
The Rockers sent nine batters to the plate, with the first five all reaching base. The string of batters included back-to-back homers, a two-run shot from Aidan Brewer and a solo homer from Yetsko to tie the score 9-9. Mirabal collected a single and Burt walked to give Mendoza another opportunity, who sent a laser over the wall in right-center for his second homer of the game in consecutive innings, lifting High Point to a 12-9 advantage.
Gastonia did not go quietly, however, plating two more runs in the bottom of the seventh on an RBI fielder’s choice and a wild pitch to inch the score back to a one-run game at 12-11 after seven innings.
After neither team scored in the eighth, High Point was in search of insurance in the top of the ninth and found it when Mirabal wrapped a pitch around the foul pole down the left field line for his first professional home run, giving the Rockers a 13-11 lead. The run would prove to be massive, as Gastonia loaded the bases in the bottom of the ninth with one out. Justin Wylie lifted a sac-fly to the warning track in right field to bring the Ghost Peppers within a tally with Gastonia down to its final out, but Stevie Branche (SV, 3) struck out Roederer to secure the victory for High Point.
Justin Lewis (W, 1-0) earned the win, while Gastonia’s Ryan Hennen (L, 1-1) suffered the loss. High Point improved to a league-best 20-7 overall, and have now won nine of the twelve meetings against the Ghost Peppers this season.
High Point will be back in action on Tuesday night, continuing a season-long nine game road trip in Charleston against the Dirty Birds at GoMart Ballpark.

The FerryHawks jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top half of the third inning on an RBI single by Pablo Sandoval off Ducks starting pitcher Mitchell Senger. Staten Island made it 2-0 in their favor in the fourth on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Tim Borden.
