Long Island Ducks 10, Lexington Legends 1
(Central Islip, N.Y., Sept. 11, 2025) – The Long Island Ducks defeated the Lexington Legends 10-1 on Thursday night in the final game of a three-game series at Fairfield Properties Ballpark.
Both sides traded zeroes until the bottom of the fifth inning when Kole Kaler’s RBI single to right field and Austin Dennis’ sac fly to center gave the Ducks a 2-0 lead. Cody Thomas extended the lead to five in the sixth with a three-run home run to right.
Brenden Dixon put Lexington on the scoreboard in the seventh with a solo homer to left. However, the Ducks countered with an RBI single to right from River Town and a sac fly to center off the bat of Aaron Antonini in the bottom of the frame to make it a 7-1 game. Town added a three-run double to left in the eighth to round out the scoring.
Ducks starter Ryan Sandberg (6-5) earned the win, tossing six shutout innings, allowing just five hits while striking out nine batters. Legends starter Colton Eastman (10-7) took the loss, giving up two runs on two hits and three walks in five innings with four strikeouts.
Kaler led the Ducks with three hits, an RBI and two runs scored. Town added two hits, four RBIs, a walk and two stolen bases, while Dennis chipped in with two hits, an RBI and two runs.

Lancaster Stormers 7, Hagerstown Flying Boxcars 2
Mason Martin belted a two-run homer down the right field line in the top of the fifth Thursday night, tying a franchise record with his 34th of the year. The blast helped to lead the Lancaster Stormers to a 7-2 win, completing a three-game sweep of the Hagerstown Flying Boxcars at Meritus Park.
The win dropped Lancaster’s magic number over Long Island to three. The Ducks defeated Lexington, 10-1, to avoid a sweep of their series against the Legends.
Martin’s homer tied him with Caleb Gindl at the top of the single season leader board. Gindl launched 34 homers in the 2021 campaign.
It was one of three two-run hits for the Stormers on the night. Kevin Watson, Jr. staked the Stormers to their first lead with a two-out double inside the third base bag in the top of the fourth, scoring Martin and Quincy Hamilton for the 2-1 edge. Watson took third on the throw home and scored on a wild pitch by Quinton Martinez (1-8).
Martin’s homer made it 5-1, and the Stormers tacked on two more in the seventh as the Hagerstown defense misplayed a two-out, bases-loaded pop up by Joe Campagna that fell untouched to the right side of the mound.
Matt Swarmer (2-4) allowed seven hits and a run in six innings of work. He walked one and struck out nine. The Boxcars picked up their lone run off the starter on a one-out RBI single to center by Aaron Takacs in the third.
It was also a frustrating night for the Boxcars, who outhit Lancaster, 10-7. Hagerstown left the bases loaded in the third and sixth innings against Swarmer. They scored their second run off reliever Keylan Killgore in the eighth, but Michael McAvene struck out Cary Arbolida with the bases loaded to end the threat. McAvene pitched a 1-2-3 ninth for his second save.
Lancaster will host the Lexington Legends for a three-game weekend series starting Friday night. Noah Skirrow (15-3) will take the hill for the Stormers against right-hander Dustin Beggs (6-1). Fans may tune into the game on FloBaseball, starting at 6:40.
NOTES: Lancaster finished with a road record of 35-28…The Stormers ended the season at 16-8 against Hagerstown, but this was the first sweep…Swarmer matched his season high with the 9 K’s…He threw his first quality start.
Southern Maryland Blue Crabs 12, High Point Rockers 9 (10 innings)
WALDORF, Md. – Southern Maryland’s Brett Barrera hit a walk-off grand slam to lead the Blue Crabs to a 12-9 win over the High Point Rockers in 10 innings on Thursday night.
The slam capped a back-and-forth contest that featured five lead changes and some late-game heroics from the Rockers.
Trailing 7-5 after seven innings, Luis Gonzalez hit his 20th homer of the season in the top of the eighth to pull the Rockers within one. In the top of the ninth, facing SMD closer Endrys Briceno, Evan Edwards belted a homer to left to tie the game at 7-7. It marked the first earned run allowed by Briceno in 13 outings.
The Rockers scored a pair of runs in the top of the 10th to take a 9-7 lead as Gonzalez doubled home the ghost runner, D.J. Burt, before Drew Mendoza hit a ground-rule double to right to give High Point a two-run lead.
But Southern Maryland rallied for five runs in the bottom of the 10th against Rockers closer Jameson McGrane (L, 1-1). Jackson Loftin doubled home the ghost runner and the Crabs drew back-to-back walks to load the bases and set the table for Barrera’s game-winner.
Gonzalez did more than his part, driving in a run in each of his final three at-bats of the game. He singled home a run in the sixth, hit a solo homer in the eighth and then doubled home another run in the 10th. Gonzalez finished the night three-for-five with three runs scored and three RBI.
Gonzalez had three hits to extend his team-leading hitting streak to 12 games. He has reached base in 26 straight games.
The Rockers remain tied for the best record in the Atlantic League along with York at 71-49. High Point slipped back to third in the second half South Division race but the Rockers have already clinched a playoff spot by virtue of their first half championship.
Game four of the series takes place at 6:35 p.m. Friday night at Regency Furniture Stadium. The Rockers will send LHP Ben Wereski (3-4, 4.09) to the mound to face a yet-to-be-named Southern Maryland starter. Rockers fans can catch all the action on FLOBASEBALL.TV and on the MixLR app.
