High Point Rockers 12, York Revolution 2
HIGH POINT, N.C.- In a game between the Atlantic League’s two first half division champions, the South Champion High Point Rockers struck the first blow, beating the North Champion York Revolution 12-2 on Tuesday night at Truist Point. The Rockers used a seven-run outburst in the bottom of the fifth to take the first of a three-game series.
The Rockers concluded the first half of the season as South Division champions with a record of 41-22 and now start the second half of the season 1-0. The Revolution concluded their first half of the season 39-24, giving them the first half North Division title, and now start their second half of the season 0-1.
The seven-run explosion in the fifth included a pair of two-run doubles from Drew Mendoza and Jack Conley and a two-run homer from Alex Dickerson.
The Rockers never trailed, scoring once in the first when Max Viera was hit by a pitch, stole second, and scored on a single by Dickerson.
York scored both of its runs in the third off High Point starter Cooper Casad. Frankie Tostado doubled home both runners but the Revs would go hitless until the eighth inning.
Casad left with one out in the fourth due to tightness in his pitching arm. Mike Esposito (W, 1-0) came on and threw 1.2 innings without allowing a hit and striking out two.
After that, the High Point bullpen carried the way as Justin Lewis and Zach Vennaro each threw a hitless inning. York stranded a pair of runners following singles in the eighth before Daniel Blair pitched around a single in the ninth to close out the game.
“The bullpen was lights out tonight,” said Rockers manager Jamie Keefe.
In the sixth inning, Luis Gonzalez pounded a homer to extend High Point into a 9-2 lead. Davidson hit a solo homer in the seventh and Viera added an RBI double.
Every Rocker batter finished with at least one hit with Conley leading the way with three and Dickerson collecting two hits.

Lancaster Stormers 8, Southern Maryland Blue Crabs 4
The second half Stormers lived up to that nickname with an 8-4 win over the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs on Tuesday night. Lancaster has won the second half each of the last three years and is off to a good start again in 2025.
The Blue Crabs did the lion’s share of their scoring in the top of the first. Ethan Wilson, Jamari Baylor, and Brett Barrera all singled and scored in the frame. Pearce Howard drove in two of those tallies with a double into center field.
Lancaster broke the goose egg in the bottom of the second inning. Alex Isola and Danny Amaral hit back-to-back doubles to plate the Stormers’ first run of the night. Joe Campagna then scored Amaral with a single into left, and the score was 3-2.
After Blue Crabs’ shortstop Sam Dexter singled in a run a frame later, the Stormers were behind 4-2. But in the top of the fourth, Lancaster started another rally. Ariel Sandoval led off the frame with a double, and Isola walked two batters later. With those two on and just one away, Amaral singled in his second run of the night. Once again, Campagna followed Amaral’s act with an RBI knock of his own, and the game was knotted, 4-4.
So. Maryland’s bats went quiet the rest of the way. Lancaster starter Noah Bremer went five innings, allowing four runs, and from there, the Stormers’ bullpen shut the door. Jackson Rees, Cody Stashak, and Gerson Moreno combined to throw four innings of relief. The trio yielded just two hits and fanned six combined.
The Stormers, however, weren’t finished on offense. Nick Lucky tripled to lead off the bottom of the sixth and scored thanks to a sacrifice fly from Amaral, who drove in three runs and scored two on the evening. That put Lancaster in front for the first time.
Nick Ward blasted a solo home run in the seventh to make it 6-4 Stormers. Lucky then parked one of his own in the eighth, and the score was 7-4. Thanks to an Amaral stolen base, a throwing error by So. Maryland catcher Ryan McCarthy and a wild pitch by relief pitcher Cody Thompson, Lancaster scored another run in the frame, and the 8-4 final tally materialized.
Jackson Rees (5-2) earned the win, while Shawn Semple (5-4) picked up the loss. Tomorrow’s matchup between the two clubs features right-hander Luke McCollough making his first start for Lancaster, while Andrew Thurman (3-1) mans the rubber for So. Maryland. Catch the action on FloBaseball at 6:45.
Gastonia Ghost Peppers 8, Charleston Dirty Birds 1
GASTONIA, N.C. – Narciso Crook’s two home runs led the way for Gastonia, as the Ghost Peppers beat the Dirty Birds 8-1 in Tuesday’s second half premiere.
Crook’s first of the two long balls came in the sixth inning – an inning where the Peppers scored five runs. Crook, who was Gastonia’s DH on Tuesday, crushed a two-run shot off southpaw Edison Suriel.
Crook’s blast followed Brian O’Grady’s two-run double, which extended O’Grady’s on-base streak to 31 straight games.
Jack Reinheimer’s RBI single capped off the five-run frame, giving the Ghost Peppers a 6-0 lead after six.
Crook homered for the second time in the eighth, crushing a first-pitch fastball from Eddy Demurias 113 miles-per-hour off his bat over the left-center field wall. Crook now has 14 homers and 48 RBIs on the season after his productive evening at the plate.
Justin Wylie also homered on Tuesday, getting the scoring started with a leadoff bomb in the fourth inning. Wylie’s team-leading 15th of the year gave Gastonia a 1-0 lead, his wallop traveling 444 feet to left.
Wylie was able to give the Peppers a lead because Connor Grey shut down the Charleston offense in his return from the IL. Grey, who hadn’t pitched since May 23, went three scoreless and struck out four batters in the contest.
Cas Silber came on in relief and also tossed three scoreless frames, allowing one baserunner. Both Grey and Silber retired the final seven batters they faced.
Nick Snyder and Art Warren combined to pitch the final three innings, closing out the 8-1 win for the Ghost Peppers.
Gastonia starts the second half 1-0 and looks to secure a series win on Wednesday. First pitch is 12:30 p.m.
Hagerstown Flying Boxcars 4, Lexington Legends 2
Hagerstown, MD – The Hagerstown Flying Boxcars opened the second half of the season up with a 4-2 win over the Lexington Legends thanks to home runs from Cary Arbolida and Kevin Saenz.
It was a pitchers dual through the first six innings as both Hagerstown’s Mike Kickham and Lexington’s Patrick Wicklander allowed a run each.
The first run for the Boxcars came via an RBI single from Roidel Martinez after Dante Leach’s one out double.
The Boxcars broke the one-run deadlock first in the bottom of the seventh as Cary Arbolida blasted a ball 113 MPH off his bat that bounced off the scoreboard in left.
After the Legends cut the lead to 1 in the top of the eighth thanks to a RBI single from Brian Fuentes, Kevin Saenz would hit a solo home run in the bottom of the eighth to extend the lead back to two.
Rafael Kelly who entered with two outs in the top of the eighth remained in the game for the top of the ninth and retired the 9,1,2 batters in order to record the save.
The Boxcars host the Legends again Wednesday night with first pitch scheduled for 6:30 P.M.
Staten Island FerryHawks 4, Long Island Ducks 3
(Staten Island, N.Y., July 8, 2025) – The Long Island Ducks were defeated by the Staten Island FerryHawks 4-3 on Tuesday night in the opener of a three-game series at Staten Island University Hospital Community Park.
Eddy Diaz put the FerryHawks in front in the second inning with a two-out RBI single to right field off Ducks starter Tim Melville. Chris Roller tied the game at one in the third with a leadoff solo home run to left-center field off FerryHawks starter Ryan Williamson.
It stayed that way until the sixth when Taylor Kohlwey scampered home from third on a wild pitch by Reinier Parra to give Long Island a 2-1 lead. A leadoff solo homer to left by Cristhian Rodriguez in the bottom of the inning evened the score at two.
An RBI double to left-center off the bat of River Town in the seventh restored the Ducks lead at 3-2. However, Rodriguez answered with a two-out, two-run single up the middle to leapfrog the FerryHawks back in front.
Neither starter factored into the decision. Melville tossed six innings of two-run ball, allowing three hits and a walk while striking out four. Williamson lasted five innings, conceding a run on six hits and three walks with five strikeouts. Clay Helvey (1-0) got the win despite allowed a run on two hits and a walk in one inning. Jacob Asa (3-2) suffered the loss, surrendering two runs on a hit and two walks in one inning. Robbie Baker picked up his sixth save with a scoreless ninth despite yielding two hits and a walk.
