High Point, York claim first half championships

The York Revolution and the High Point Rockers have clinched the Atlantic League’s first half championships and will advance to the ALPB Playoffs.

The Revs clinched their spot in the postseason on Sunday, June 29 as Jaylin Davis hit a pair of home runs in a 6-2 win over the Staten Island FerryHawks. The Rockers clinched on Saturday night with a 5-3 win over the Lancaster Stormers.

While the ALPB’s first half does not end until the conclusion of games on Sunday, July 6, both York and High Point can start to make their postseason plans.

York is 37-20 with six games remaining. The Revs are seven games ahead of the second place Long Island Ducks (30-27) in the North Division. High Point is 38-19 and has a seven game lead over Southern Maryland (31-26) in the South.

The Atlantic League playoffs will begin on Saturday, September 20 with the Division Championship Series. The first half champions choose whether they want to start the LCS with two home games or finish with the final three games at home. The best-of-five series will send the victors to the best-of-five League Championship Series which begins on Saturday, September 27 at the home of the North Division champion.

The championship is York’s fourth title and marks the second consecutive year the Revs have won the North Division in the first half. York has nine total half-season championships and four ALPB titles.

High Point’s first half title is its first since 2023 and its second overall. The Rockers have been to the LCS once, falling to Lancaster in 2023.
